What's "comic book" about Magnum, PI?
I guess this iteration will be.
Sorry, I included the "," out of habit.

These fan conventions seem to have become more about promoting shows and meeting stars than the original formula. Bet you would be tripping over Star Wars, Star Trek and The Walking Dead fans in costumes to get to this screening......

Those I get . . . Walking Dead started as a comic and both Star Wars and Star Trek had comic adaptions, not to mention being cornerstones of "geek" culture with as many debates between and about their mythos as comics fans argued how Lois could ever carry Superman's child, not to mention actually consummate a relationship with him.
But "just" a TV series? Feels desperate to me.
But it's not like I have been a cheerleader for this project to begin with so . . .

This is not desperate, but something normal. Panel of TV shows on Comic-Con have been for many years. And such unrelated comics appear very often. Hawaii Five-0 had a panel in 2010. MacGyver in 2016. And many other shows. It's not just a comic event these days.

Magnum's been adapted to comics, movie shorts, fan art, and more, so to me it makes sense to be featured here. Just google "Magnum PI comics" to see some of the stuff out there. Plus SDCC has become so much more than comics in the past few years.

OH. MY. GOD! As a super fan of the original, I feel that comic-con is the appropriate venue for this "reboot".

Conch:
I thought the politically correct term was "graphic novel".

Okay, let me get a snide comment out of the way and then continue on...I guess that is almost a Jungle Bird Shirt and almost a mustache...Now, that being said, I find the cast to be utterly charming. I have been watching movies with Jay such as The Rookie, Friday Night Lights and Bad Moms and have to say he is a good actor and I have been rooting for Pardita since a female Higgins was announced. I am not looking at the show as the original but a new show that I hope stands out on it's own with great writing and a continuing story line that has folks growing to love each character.............(Not quite sure if I will be rocking in the new washed out version of the Jungle Bird shirt though)

Actually, a graphic novel is different, or at least it used to be. Often they involve comic characters, but they tend to be over sized, self contained one shots on better quality paper. "The Death of Captain Marvel" and "God Loves, Man, Kills" featuring the X-Men are two of the classic examples.
