That was an interesting link/idea. A Magnum PI/Rockford Files crossover TV movie would be my choice, to see if the idea clicked. But I don't think Jim and Thomas would mesh well with the A-Team and Knight Rider etc,
they come out of different viewpoints. Mr. T and Rockford would perplex each other. On the other hand, those two being so different might make for some first rate fireworks.
