Inside door handles, front, the fact that it's two seater and a convertible gave it up. I first tried to find similar Nissan, later Chrysler, Chevrolet and then i remembered original Rick's Mercedes. I searched for a newest successor of it, compared and it was a fit!

A Mercedes is the natural choice and you apparently confirmed it with your findings.
Nice detective work there karolis!

I wonder if TC will have a van.
Hi Kenji...
I read that TC's van will be a Metro Mobility Van..
TC is contracted by 10 of the largest assisted living homes on Oahu...Monday thru Friday between the hours of 11-1 TC picks up and drops off the elderly at the Piggly Wiggly stores so they can shop...Leaving him plenty of time for sunrise and sunset flights.

Too funny Sam!
Looking forward to seeing that in Island Hopper colors.
Based on what he wrote I'm guessing this was Manetti's personal car... it was unclear so I just posted the pics and waited for someone to chime in. (Thanks Sam & Kenji!)

I was reading Zach's comment about Frank Sinatra driving it during an MPI episode and I don't remember him driving in it Laura. I remember him driving a white convertible....I think it was a Chrysler. Maybe Sinatra used the MPI Mercedes while they weren't shooting or maybe this blue Mercedes was one of Larry's personal rides while living on the island and Sinatra drove that one. Another thought, Frank drove the MPI Mercedes during the show, but that scene got cut out of the show. All guesses.

Hi Kenji, I checked and yep, it's a Chrysler. Zach wrote "Sinatra drove this car in an episode" so my guess is that he's just wrong.
So, same as with Knighton, neither one is actually saying it was the one from the show. However Hill, like Knighton, is claiming Sinatra drove it in an episode stating that it's "the one driven by Frank Sinatra in the original MPI"
From listening to Larry Manetti's CRN show with Zach Knighton (I posted about it in another thread) LM explains in so many words that the Mercedes Knighton posted about was LM's "company" car while filming and Sinatra drove it while he was there.... LM never says Sinatra drove it in a scene, so Knighton was most likely mistaken on Instagram. LM goes on to say whoever was visiting the Islands and wanted to drive, drove it... Tony Curtis, Frankie Avalon, Jimmy Darren... Selleck drove it too.

Looks to be in pretty good shape for a well used car! Clearly, it's been restored.
