I say good news because I hope this means a domestic Blu-ray release of the series we all know and love.

I’ll check out the reboot once I can stream it. I’ll try to go into it with an open mind although that’s going to be tough.

Wtf is this. I had the unfortunate accident of watching that promo before bed last night.... needless to say falling asleep was hard after that...

First- casting. I have zero problem with the new magnum. However the new sexy Higgins misses the mark big time. What are the odds "the lads" are called "the lasses" (even though the actual dogs in the original were female). Not a fan of how Rick and TC are portrayed. Rick is even more cheese ball, but has all the glitz and glam of "Entourage". TC casting reminds me of Craig Robinson... ugh

Nuzo (sp) is now a friend? He was the embedded spy in "did you see the sunrise". Now he's murdered and they going after those how did it... Maybe they'll expand on it in the show, but seems weird for the "pilot".

Character portrayal- magnum on a surf ski, tigers cap, several different Ferraris, running from the dogs. Seems like a cheap attempt at familiarity. Let me guess "work the lock, don't look at the dogs, work the lock, you looked at the dogs".. They have TC's rank/grade wrong. If he was a war time pilot, he wasn't enlisted...

Lastly but most egregiously...the over the top action. Gun fight comparison: ambulance scene looks like the same cul de sac from "all roads lead to floyd" gift exchange party. Then... a couple six shooters no one gets hit. Now...well everyone has automatic weapons. Spraying the neighborhood up. (As an aside why is TM shooting at the ambulance if his friend is in it?)

Jumping out of the Ferrari, on to a truck going off a cliff, grabbing the Hughes 500D.... Yeah.

I was mildly excited for the reboot. Was hoping that it would be a reboot in the same vein as 5-0 (which is cheese ball too). There McGarret has the blood line, but is different. He's a new guy. He's also a seal that does some over the top stuff, but nothing like I just saw in magnum trailer.

Wow is all I can say. Fingers crossed a blu-ray collection comes out of this. All though with the way things are going you never know if they'll George Lucas it and have Ivan shoot first...

I was thinking today how how the Magnum and Rick interactions in this seem more like Carson and McMahon, respectively. Carson makes a joke and McMahon chuckles along.
