Magnum Mania!

Finished watching the entire series tonight, and already feeling rather nostalgic, decided to check out the Magnum Mania site. That's when I noticed the forum, and thought I could join...

Used to watch "Magnum P.I." as a kid (little girl, that is), with my father, but I could never keep track of seasons or episode orders. Got the DVDs last year, and started re-watching the series. I was afraid it would feel dated (am not a child anymore, after all), but instead if was fresh and funny and wonderful in all the ways I remember, and more. Tried to limit myself to one episode per day, to make them last longer, alas, today is the day I've finished the last of the discs.

Anyway, am so glad there are other people out there who love the show, and who are still around to discuss it! This site/forum is brilliant!

Indeed. I've often wondered what it is about this show that makes it so great to watch so many years later. There are so many others that, while fun, make you cringe and you're done reminiscing a few episodes later.

I've often wondered what it is about this show that makes it so great to watch so many years later.

For me personally I think it has always been about the friendship between the characters. They all change and grow in their own way, but they manage to stay friends, to stick together, and perhaps that's why it still resonates with people: these things are universal, will never feel "dated".

Nope, not from New York. "Nyuszi" (pronounced something like "new-see") means "bunny rabbit" in Hungarian. It's been my nickname since I was little.
