I have only recently made the hop to smart TV's, and bought a cheap adapter from TEMU to test the idea. It works, but there is a very noticeable image quality downgrade for VHS. Also, smart TV's make my perfectly good DVD players obsolete, I put their signal through the HDMI apapter and they downgrade the image quality ALOT. Annoying, I have several good quality CD/VHS/DVD players that have years of life in them, that will need a legacy TV to operate.ZelenskyTheValiant (Ivan) wrote: ↑Thu May 18, 2023 9:17 pmCool. Thanks! Not that I need this at the moment (don't think I have anything on VHS that I don't own on DVD) but it might be cool to see what a VHS image would look like on my SmartTV using this HDMI adapter.![]()
Maybe someone has experienced better results with a high quality adapter?

Garage sales. People getting rid of older TV's, DVD/VCR players for a buck. Streaming TV doesn't allow one to dvr Magnum/Rockford File reruns, so one is forced to sit thru commercials. So I tape them onHonoluluLulu wrote: ↑Thu Dec 26, 2024 10:14 amI have only recently made the hop to smart TV's, and bought a cheap adapter from TEMU to test the idea. my VCR. By the way, if you run across unopened, wrapped in plastic VCR tapes, especially of classic movies, buy them, collectors will shell out.
Yes I also have a modern Smart TV.

Thank you. Not sure I have.quite the eye for detail as many of the forum members, but I love Magnum and enjoy reading about it here, so about time I tried to contribute!

Yes, I am hanging on to a couple of legacy flat screen TV's. I recently sold a load of vintage WWF (WWE) VHS tapes that I picked up for a song back when WWF had to change their name and were dumping WWF branded rental tapes in my market area. I was suprised how quickly they got snapped up. Have just used the money to buy the Magnum PI blue ray boxed set, will be here any day nowLuther's nephew Dobie wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2024 12:00 amGarage sales.
