Just finished reading rumors regarding a Magnum PI reboot in 2025 or 2026. I do miss the original Magnum/Selleck model and could never watch the most recent remake. No TS-No Magnum. As many have, I too had written a script for his comeback decades later. Of course, he's older, but so am I so seeing an aged Magnum would not make me cringe like I'm feeling many would. All things are possible and for the love of us nostalgic Mag Heads... just do it. Life is Short-Live it Well.

Could you please elaborate on a putative Magnum PI remake rumors? I can't see how they could continue classic Magnum with only Tom and a frail, ailing Larry.
I could see an older Selleck doing TV movie Westerns, of the type Randolph Scott and Duke Wayne did in their golden years.
Last year I read where Jay and the producers of the reboot had been peddling a would be TV movie, pointing out the last year at NBC had
seen good ratings despite then being canceled.
Depending on the ratings it might spawn more TV movies as Perry Mason and Rockford Files did.

Re: Hello Old Friends.
To add some context, the Rockford movies came less than fifteen years after the series ended and the cast was all still alive except for Noah Beery as Rocky. It’s now been more than 25 years since the last movie was released, which is wild to think about.
I also don’t see how a new MPI series could succeed with just Selleck over 35 years later. We loved the show for the interaction of all the characters. Ultimately TV shows are character driven. A TV movie could potentially work in terms of rating, based on nostalgia alone. That was a big part of the Rockford movies’ success. Still, it just wouldn’t feel like MPI to me without the TM/Higgins banter.
