Thought Ossie Davis was the Cosby dad at first. Nope. He did a good job.
I certainly won't be telling people "You gotta check out the old Hawaii Five-0 series. Start with Hara-Kiri: Murder. It will get you hooked".
MPI: Some regulars.
Love anytime Byodo-In is featured. I was there too, you know.
I agree. Was never a fan of this one. I mentioned before that I'm not really a fan of the "financial" stories. I noticed that Norman Lessing wrote this script and it seems like his Five-O scripts tended to have some kind of "finance" angle to them - "The Odd Lot Caper", "Percentage". Didn't care for those 2 either.
You thought Ossie Davis was Bill Cosby?? Eh???
You missed an MPI connection with John Fujioka (a non-regular) who was in "Dick McWilliams".

LOL. No. Not that dense although I try.
Thought it was the actor who played Bill Cosby's father (dad) in the Cosby show at the beginning. Earle Hyman.
Also thought John Fujioka has been mentioned bunch of times before so didn't add him.
Knocking my rubber chicken or my sloppy habits is within the rules, but you're attacking my character. I would like to think you don't mean that.

Peking Man. Good use of real life events/discovery and making it fit Hawaii Five-0 style.
In 1941, to safeguard them during the Second Sino-Japanese War, the Zhoukoudian human fossils — representing at least 40 different individuals — and artefacts were deposited into 2 wooden footlockers and were to be transported by the United States Marine Corps from the Peking Union Medical College to the SS President Harrison which was to dock at Qinhuangdao Port (near the Marine basecamp Camp Holcomb), and eventually arrive at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. En route to Qinhuangdao, the ship was attacked by Japanese warships, and ran aground. Though there have been many attempts to locate the crates — including offering large cash rewards — it is unknown what happened to them after they left the college.
Smart how they found him at the cemetery.

Mel!
Pretty good story here. Thought it was good.

Sharples?
Yep, it's a better episode than I originally thought. First time I saw it I found it dull, maybe even my least favorite of the season. But it gets better with rewatches. The Peking Man historical connection is pretty interesting. Liked the scenes at the cemetery and the switching of the gravestones. Keene Curtis makes his second appearance (after "Killer at Sea") and Vic Tayback will be back again in season 10. Wasn't Kwan Hi Lim in this one?
Modems and computer hacking.
Must of been a bit confusing to viewers. I didn't get a Commodore computer until 10 years later.
And the hacker wasn't just a hacker he was evil and super creative. Good times.
"I didn't know you were going to kill anyone" was an interesting dynamic. Why would you think a computer hacker would be murdering his way through Honolulu.
Good ending tongue lashing from McGarrett.
Very good.
MPI: Edward Sheehan

Yep, great episode! Definitely a top 5 for the season. Excellent score by Don Ray as well. Jeff David, who played the "computer killer", was cold as ice but also an intellectual of sorts. Sort of a "human computer" himself. All intellect, zero emotion. Leading to deadly results. Surprised that Jeff David hasn't been in anything noteworthy outside of this episode. Looks like he played a few bit parts here and there but nothing on this scale. Wonder how he got cast in this role, as the MAIN guest star.

Luther Gillis!!!
Good episode. I liked it.
Thelma and Louise and Louise.
Once you go down a road...
Started with just robberies, then shooting up the bus, then shooting a cop, then planning murder.
Tip for Dina: You're not doing recovery right.
MPI: Jimmy Borges, Eugene Roche, Robert L. Silva (played a lot of police officers)
Yep, Luther Gillis! Eugene Roche is very good here too! I like it when he calls the women's group that his wife attends a "hen convention". But the real standout of course is crazy Dina! I see that Patricia Hindy was in a ROCKFORD FILES episode that I like - "The Deuce". I think she was the sister (or was it wife?) of the main guest/patsy played by Mills Watson. But she was completely normal in that one. Here she's in full psycho mode! Probably the single craziest chick in the entire series! Just watch her deranged/orgasmic face as she shoots out all the windows on the bus as the scene freezes into a commercial wave. Great episode!

Top 10 for Season 7 according to my lame memory.

Your top 10 is confusing to say the least. You have "The Two-Faced Corpse" and "Ring of Life" in there, which as I recall you did not like at all. On the other hand, where is "Bomb, Bomb", "We Hang Our Own", "Right Grave-Wrong Body", "A Gun for McGarrett", "Study in Rage", all of which you said you enjoyed?
Also I'm not sure if these are in any kind of order. Or just random.

In bold are the ones I really liked that stayed very clear in my memory.
Then I struggled with the others and started going through the IMDb season 7 page just trying to complete the list.
Then kinda just plugged them in.
You can be confident in the eight though (and the top 4).
I told you I didn't like the pressure.
