A little predictable though. That Carole was playing McGarrett. It was not the surprise it should have been. And the call to the gun shop owner sort of revealed what was up and took some oomph out of the 'shooting'.
Was fun seeing Steve's playful dating side in this one.
Opening office explosion scene was great.
McGarrett does have 900 lives.
MPI: No new ones that I noticed.
Knocking my rubber chicken or my sloppy habits is within the rules, but you're attacking my character. I would like to think you don't mean that.

A great season 7 episode! Maybe not as great as season 2's similarly titled "A Bullet for McGarrett" (where we had the added bonus of hypnosis and a great villain in Eric Braeden) but it's still a very strong episode. Very good score by Don Ray (from previous episodes) and Ivor Barry gave a fine performance as the very English but quite ruthless villain Savage. Love his voice! Not quite Eric Braeden but good enough. I also love his pad where he lives/stays. We've seen it before and on MPI too - Hanapepe Place. The explosion in McGarrett's office was awesome and this same explosion is seen again in a season 9 episode during another hit attempt on McG. We see local stock actor George Herman again, in back to back episodes. In the previous episode he was Durkin's assistant/henchman, here he's the assassin who's a patsy set up to be killed.
I'm trying to remember if Marni's reveal was a surprise to me. I think at the beginning I didn't suspect her but as the episode went on I think maybe I had some sneaking suspicions. It wasn't completely predictable but not exactly shocking either. I did like seeing the more romantic side of McG.
MPI connection missed: local stock actor Jim Demarest, playing the gangster Sig Meer who's found floating in his swimming pool, was the bad guy who kidnapped the girls in "Thank Heaven for Little Girls".

Well would you look at that.
Missed it.
Thanks.

Very good. Very creepy.
The stalker had all his bases covered.
Driving the girl to jump from the building was a WOW moment.
I like McGarrett and Danno’s deceptive ways to get around the Listener.
Good episode.
Oops, you missed another one! Greg Mullavey (Cerberus the psycho) was bad guy Charlie in MPI's "A Sense of Debt". Saw it yesterday. Liked it. Now I know who Leon Platt is. Buster and Bobby K!
Saw "Squeeze Play" last week and maybe liked it even more. Robin's Nest being in jeopardy was a cool idea. As was the softball game bet.
Little Ocean's Eleven. Little The Sting. Lotsa fun.
Cameron Mitchell did a great job.
Loved the ending tricking him into confessing.
Episode was campy and far-fetched but thoroughly fun.
Cool seeing Frank Gorshin.
MPI: Cameron Mitchell, Wisa D'Orso
Thought you might like this one. But I haven't seen you this ecstatic since probably "Hookman". Can't believe this is the best episode since that one. No way! Still, as you can see season 7 still got it. The episode is fun and has a really cool premise, putting Five-O on the spot! I really need to rewatch it soon because it's been a long while and I'm having trouble remembering details. Kind of a shame that Frank Gorshin wasn't better used to showcase his talent for impressions. He's sort of a second banana here.

Bumping for Greg Mullavey?
Rub it in I missed him*?
Or bumping 'cause you want praise for getting some Magnum episodes in?
I never liked A Sense of Debt much.
Squeeze Play is fun. Oh, oh. There it is again. Fun, fun fun.
* Never should have started that spot the Magnum guest star thing. Too much pressure

Yep, both for Mullavey and for me squeezing a few more MPI episodes in.
Gotta say I'm enjoying season 4. No really noticeable dip in quality from season 3, I mean aside from the absence of a classic like "Did You See the Sunrise?". The worst one so far was "Smaller Than Life" but even that one I didn't hate. Better than the season 3 turkey "Mixed Doubles".

Yes, there are some turkeys.
If I get to a turkey I just focus on the interactions between Magnum, Higgins, T.C. and Rick. It always saves a dud (not so good) episode.

This is true. But sometimes a dud is too much of a dud. "One More Summer" might just be the ultimate dud for me.

Good seeing Wo Fat but pretty much a snorefest.
Bamboo cage???
The ending was quite good though.
The bicycle gun was cool and it was a good twist the Cubano boys trying to take out Wo Fat but he had other plans.
The ending saved this episode.
MPI: James Hong, Seth Sakai
Yep, off into the bamboo cage you go!
Actually I'll let you slide on this one. Believe it or not, at one point this was my favorite Wo Fat episode. I used to not care for the Wo Fat episodes but somehow this one seemed to stand out of the bunch. Maybe it's the assassination plot of the foreign leader that got me more excited - I used to love those stories. But these days it's more of a middling Wo Fat episode for me. I still like it but I now realize it's not the best of the bunch. But I certainly wouldn't call it a snorefest. Not by a long shot! Doesn't Mr. Mike call this one "Wo Fat Goes to the Circus"?
