Like this one quite a bit.

I liked Sam a lot.

The reveal with McGarrett looking for the scarred hand was good.

I like when they then 'rewind' the story for the full details of the crime.

Lt. Tanaka again!
Not a fan of this one. I find it similar to "The Odd Lot Caper" where there's some shady business dealings going on and someone is cooking the books and there's finances involved. And other stuff. It's even the same writer (Norman Lessing) as the Odd Lot episode. I think he did a few more finance-themed episodes. I would definitely consider this one and Odd Lot to be my least favorites of the season. Ok, maybe this one is a little better than Odd Lot. But it's still near the bottom of the season.

Wow.

We weren't simpatico on the last two episodes.

Engaged to Be Buried

PONCH!

I liked this one.

Introducing Chin into it was a great moment.

We have this thing in the house during a suspenseful moment we yell "EEEEEEEEEE".

I did a good one when I saw Chin on the couch. Stinkin' daughters. I can say that because I have two.

And he delivered some great lines.

All in all very good.

It's ok. Just reinforcing the bamboo cage right now.

Well, we're simpatico on this one. :) It's very good and gets better each time I see it. It's nice to see Chin shine once again (as he did in season 2's "Cry, Lie"). This is definitely my favorite Chin-centric episode. Great stuff all around. Simon Oakland yelling his head off once again as he always does. Loved it when he began to beat one of his lackeys with his cane (or was it crutch?). Erik Estrada was the real highlight though as the rotten to the core son! At the end you could see that Chin's daughter ultimately meant nothing to him. He needed killing and that's what he got. In fact that's what bugs me at the end - that she's still crying over him even though he just held her hostage and tried to kill her father (Chin). Sheesh, you dumb chick, snap out of it!! You didn't believe a word about him when your dad tried to warn you and now that the scumbag tried to kill you and daddy you're still crying over him????

Is that like what the Fonz does??? EEEEEEEEEEHHHH......

Eeeeeeeeeek without the "K".

The Diamond That Nobody Stole

Okay.

Nothing mind blowing.

Bit rushed and confusing at the end. I thought it must be a two-parter with a few minutes left.

Loved seeing Ala Moana mall.

5.5/10

Interesting. When I'm shocked I say "whoah". Never "eeeeeee".

Diamond is another of the lesser episodes of the season. Cool seeing Eric Braeden again but his earlier 2 roles and episodes were vastly superior to this one. Like you said, it gets a bit confusing. Something about diamonds belonging to some important aristocratic family but then there's espionage involved and it somehow ties to the KGB and CIA... and stuff. Like "The Odd Lot Caper" and "Percentage" if I follow it closely enough I can make sense of the plot. But ask me 2 hours later and I won't be able to tell you what it was about. Also I think this is the episode where Ben jumps over the railing that you see in the opening credits for Al Harrington.

One more episode to go... a better episode to end the season. But not as strong as the season 4 finale.

Jury of One

Good one.

I like courtroom stories.

And someone on the jury on the take? Good stuff.

McGarrett comes through again.

I didn't know Robin's nest had a pool and was on Maui.

MPI: Ray Buktenica (Icepick's accountant) again and Elizabeth Smith (multiple).

Yep, I like courtroom stories too. Everything from 12 ANGRY MEN to MATLOCK! Good way to end the season. Interesting note - Edward Binns who plays the criminal's defense attorney was one of the 12 jurors in the 1957 classic 12 ANGRY MEN. He was also in 1982's THE VERDICT, another courtroom drama.

Wait, Robin's Nest featured in this one? I don't remember that. Which scene?

34 minute mark.

Stock footage of the Estate... then a shot of a backyard pool... was supposed to be on Maui.

Ah ok, if you could post a screenshot that would be great. :) If not I'll dig out my DVD set.

I recall an episode where the estate is used similarly, except it cut to the interior of an entirely different home.

Thanks for the list.

Was a good season.

Dig up those DVDs.

A screen cap would just be a picture of the Estate.

Hookman

Fantastic episode.

Literally had everything. So much in this episode.

Great bad guy, great creepiness, love the slow and deliberate making of the name plates, great car chase, great music, the apartment, the phone call.

The music was top notch a la Magnum investigating the Ripper too.

And did he get away? Well, did he?

Close to a 10/10 for me. Right up my alley.
