If I had to pick one really awful episode, it's 'Up The Rebels'. Stephen Boyd's accent, although he was born in Belfast [actually Glengormley, County Antrim], is atrocious. I'm Irish, you see. So, for me, I'm afraid the whole episode was a bit of a dud.
That statement makes no sense! How could a guy from Ireland have an awful Irish accent??? :?

Unless the Irish accent varies from county to county and Boyd was attempting some other county's accent? :?:
I have no details about this episode but there are regional differences in Irish accents, as there are with most widespread languages like English. I believe there are about twenty recognized accents in Great Britain and even more in the US. Here’s a hilarious rundown of the Irish variety.

Thanks! Funny video! County Cark!

Or “tanks” based on one of the accents.
Cockneys in England would say “fanks”. :D

Speaking of bad accents... How about Kurt Russell's Russian?

Deadly Doubles

I liked the episode. Little bit of From Moscow to Maui.

Little bit of an all-star cast too. Young Kurt, Tim Matheson, Charles Hallahan, Earl Boen.

Good cold war story.

Defection sprinkled with murder. Good times.

Good escape from the showers.

The end scene was cool. The stand-off between Five-0 and the Soviet Union soil at their embassy.

Don't think the "Book 'em" would hold up though. Diplomatic immunity. He'd just get the boot.

MPI: Bill Edwards, Danny Kamekona
Knocking my rubber chicken or my sloppy habits is within the rules, but you're attacking my character. I would like to think you don't mean that.

It was okay I guess. I'm not a huge fan of "Moscow to Maui" either. Although I do like Cold War stories quite a lot. Obviously future big stars like Kurt Russell and Tim Matheson are the big draw here. I agree that Russell as a Russkie is a bit of a stretch. I like that you noticed both Charles Hallahan (future Capt. Charlie Devane on TV's HUNTER) and Earl Boen in small roles - roles that would typically be played by local stock actors. I'm a little surprised how they got these 2. Did they fly them in from Hollywood for such small roles? They weren't known at all at the time. So why not use local white stock actors, like they typically did? David Palmer, John Stalker, Edward Sheehan, Robert Harker, etc. :?: Unless those 2 happened to be working/living in Hawaii at the time?

The escape from the showers again uses that cool Morton Stevens cue, which we heard during the tunneling caper "The Friends of Joey Kalima".

Stand-off with the Soviet Union? Sounds like what's happening today with Russia over Ukraine.

Speaking of Kurt Russell, don't forget he also appeared in a 13th season episode:

Number One With A Ballet ★★★

Kurt Russell stars as Vladimir Mudack, manager of the Royal Moscow Ballet, which is giving several performances in Honolulu. Mudack wants to defect to America, but after trying unsuccessfully to negotiate with the U.S. State Department and being constantly harassed by the KGB cops that are accompanying him everywhere, he knocks out a guard (Robert Luck) at the Aloha Tower where the ballet troupe is sightseeing. Mudack takes the guard's gun and escapes to the top of the tower, where he starts to fire indiscriminately at people on the ground below. McGarrett has his hands full when a rookie cop (Richard Yniguez) thinks he can deal with the situation better than Five-O.

======

There is a big in-joke of sorts here.

Ah, yes! The legendary season 13.

Yes I get the in-joke to "The Deadly Tower" which starred Russell and Yniguez.

Mudak is also a Russian swear word!

Deep Cover

Maud Adams - WOW.

Cool episode. Entertaining.

Got a bit confused when the switch was made (I half watch half listen). Little weird the same actor played the the different roles. Bit unrealistic someone looks that identical.

I like the switcheroo stories though and the battle of wits.

MPI: Geoffrey Lewis, Joe Moore, Jorie Remus, Don Pomes

Tsunami

Now McGarrett matches wits with some mensa kids... and still outsmarts them.

Enjoyable episode.

From the ambulance, to the murder of Kenji, to the fake police, to the heist, and all coming back to the ambulance.

Reminiscent of an earlier episode as I recall. Fake catastrophe to clear out Honolulu. Don't remember which.

Sidney Clute I recognized. Cagney & Lacey.

MPI: Bruce Atkinson (Robin Masters' backside running into TC's helicopter?), Robert Silva, Cliff Coleman, David Palmer, Connie Kissinger

Now, we finally come to the first REALLY good episode of season 10. Probably my second favorite of the season! It's a great espionage/Cold War story and unlike the tennis/defection-themed "Deadly Doubles" just prior to this one, this one is actually suspenseful and engrossing. Agreed about Maud Adams - she's very good as the "femme fatale" of the piece. She was a 2-time Bond girl of the Roger Moore era, my favorite. She played Octopussy in 1983 which is one of my all-time favorite Bond films! Her appearance here would have been after her first Bond girl role in THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN in 1974.

So yeah, so far this is the best episode of the season!

That's easy. The impostor had plastic surgery done on him to look like the real Navy guy. That's why it's the same actor playing both parts.

And now we get to my FAVORITE episode of the season! :) Always loved this one and nostalgia plays a big part because it must have been one of my earliest memories of the show. Always loved that whole caper these "geniuses" pulled, generating that tsunami warning. Also the killing of Kenji right on the Iolani steps was pretty cold. That chick was pretty crazy! The music score by John Cacavas (I know Mr. Mike hates him) was pretty good too. Sometimes his scores are crappy but this one was good.

You're thinking of the classic season 2 episode with Wo Fat's minions generating the fake tsunami warning - "Forty Feet High and It Kills". But believe it or not I actually prefer this episode over that earlier one. Yeah I know, please don't put me in a bamboo cage. :(

Hey Ivan and T.Q.

Do me a favor and Google Earth 3D this address.
3870 Waokanaka St.
Honolulu..

The house was used in a episode of HFO..it's bugging me that I can't remember which episode..The house was built in 1970...I believe Mcgarrett drives up to the house twice in the episode.
Thanks

Sorry Sam but because of all the foliage I can't really see any house. Off the top of my head I can't think of an episode that filmed on this street. Do you have a pic of this house?

Thanks Pahonu..
I think the land is/was part of the Mark's Estate..It's just north of the estate on the other side of the Pali
The owner who died last year was Elizabeth "Marks" Stack..

Now hopefully someone knows the episode..
Thanks again.

I'm sorry but looking at those pics the house and its grounds don't ring a bell. It does kind of resemble the Marks Estate (KKC) but like you said that's on the other side of the Pali.
