Excellent,I see Gloria Reuben is coming back in this one (humina, humina) and Robert Carradine, my favorite of the Carradine siblings and father of another favorite of mine, Ever Carradine..........Go get 'em, Tom, probably another sweeps week winner for CBS............

Well no one has written what they thought of the latest Jesse Stone movie!

Am sure many will perhaps not agree, but I thought it was the worst in the series. The movie seemed to drag on and on, murdered by adverts,
then some action during the last fifteen minutes.

Loose ends story wise, were tied up in this movie, so I can see where there might not be another made.

What did anyone else think of the movie?

I have to agree with you Lily. I got tired of seeing Jesse walk around thinking, drinking coffee and talked with everyone in 2-3 word sentences. Do you know anyone who talks like that?

It dragged on and then at the end, it was over. Done. Finished. No explanations as to who, what, where, why and when.

I have it recorded to watch this weekend but did catch the first 30 minutes. That "I will, I did, I have", etc. that Jesse utters incessantly has always driven me nuts!

I am glad the issue was brought up about the banter back and forth.

It drove me crazy.... who speaks like that?

Either he was answering questions with questions, or simply only having a one word answer.

It would be cute if it was shown once, but really - the whole movie was too much.

I'm tired of watching him drink and look at the dog.

yeah but isn't that ALL of the Jesse Stone movies? The 3 word conversations has always made me batty, but I did enjoy it once you accept it's part of the character. This one was a bit slow, but the dialogue was to me entertaining enough.

im sure there will be a another......he has to find Hasty, bust Geno (or give immunity to help bring down Hasty) and Rose was left dangling. Good to see Suitcase come back.

The dialogue was getting to me in this episode too. I also felt it was the weakest of the eight. Hopefully they will still bring us a ninth and that it is better than this last one.

I finally finished it and agree with all of you. It was the weakest written of all of the series so far and the dialogue is getting monotonous and bordering on the rididculous ("I'm very fond of you Jesse"). I absolutely cringed during the scenes between TS and Gloria Reuben instead of feeling any kind of sexual passion. These movies have an incredible supporting cast and guest stars but it all needs to start with a well written and believable script...........

Did anyone notice that one of the other characters--I can't recall which one--was wearing a watch like the MPI red and blue Rolex? It was prominent for a moment on screen, then the image cut to Jesse looking at his own watch....

I thought this was the worst of the series. It was just boring and seemed like it was all wrapped up in the last 30 seconds. Apparently, CBS has said they won't do anymore Jesse Stones and TS & company are shopping it to cable.

I caught it. Jesse's watch is a Rolex GMT with the Pepsi bezel. Yet another Magnum nod.

However, the watch in the movie is stumping me. The watch has the Pepsi bezel, but the number font (not sure if that's the technical term) on said bezel is the new style (slightly elongated horizontally or "squashed" looking). The 116710 (the current production model of the GMT) is the only one with this font, but it does not come with the Pepsi Bezel! Could this be a one-off custom by Rolex for Selleck (like the 308 Ferrari made for him with the raised roofline)?

Any watch guys on the forum who could shed some light on this?

The watch was worn by Hastie. Too quick for me to work out whether it was a Rolex or not, but the Pepsi Bezel would have to be a nod to Magunm, too big a coincidence not to be.

I have to differ; I paused the video to ID the watch and it was clearly on Selleck's wrist, though, if I recall correctly, it cut straight from Rubinek looking at HIS watch, so I can see where it could be confusing.

Since the Rolex GMT was a central plot point of Selleck's personal favorite episode of MPI, I agree coincidence is unlikely.

I still don't know why it has the new font, though, unless it is a custom job.

Here's a video showing the difference between the old and new GMT (no Pepsi bezel), and the difference in the font is obvious, as well as the green GMT hand on the new watch (Selleck's has the old red GMT hand):
