I think this sort of post is a bad idea on the forum. It's just divisive.

That's up to the moderator to decide. I will respect his wishes.

True, but I can't help thinking how one of the most amazing things about this forum is how it brings so many different people from so many different places
together. Thinking back to some of the posts we've had on why people keep coming back to watch Magnum episodes, the overwhelming theme is escapism. Its a fun place that didn't tread into territory that would exclude any of us based on our political, religious, etc. leanings. We're all aware that the US is deeply divided politically and the rhetoric from both sides will escalate over the coming months, but I'd encourage you keep this place as a refuge from all that.
Clearly, the rules for posting are up to James, but I think the general rule for dinner party conversation should apply (i.e., politics and religion should be avoided). This is not because I disagree with any of you, but rather to ensure everyone feels welcome.

Beautifully put.

Well said
Styles. But I really don't have a problem with political posts in this sub-forum. If you don't like a post just ignore it.
The only types of posts I won't tolerate are the obvious ones: foul language, spam, links to porn, ad hominem personal attacks, threats of violence, illegal activities, racism, psychotic rants, etc.

Thanks for posting that.
That's why I put it in this forum, and not one of the others.
I never say that other kind of stuff.
