I'll second that, Conch. My 6th grade teacher at Grant School, Westfield, NJ, was the best teacher I ever had, and she was Jewish.
A Jewish Dean at Kean College, Mike, taught me many life lessons by example.
Especially on how to treat people one disagrees with or whom are in fact disagreeable. Mike always reacted with class and dignity
even when a older colleague, Ed, once mouthed some anti-Semitic tripe. Mike could easily have verbally dispatched the old codger, who while a victim of a narrow
upbringing was basically a decent person who had engaged in many charitable endeavors. Mike took the high road instead and rebuked Ed in a way that
left him with his dignity but shamed, an act which deeply impressed me.
