Great list!

Do you know what Quarterflash song I adore? Take Another Picture. They were a really underrated band, you never hear about them now, even on those VH1 Where Are They Now type shows. Too bad.

Nice list. Although I grew up in the 70's, I love 80's music. Some of my favorites from then were Taylor Dane, Sheena Easton, Lone Justice.

I like a lot of your picks, although it's a little thin on the Rock (nothing wrong with that, of course). No Police, huh?

Or no Simple Minds, Tears For Fears, Bob Seeger or Springsteen and only one Prince.........The eighties were such an incredible decade for music (from the fluff one hit wonders that were great to the break out artists that will last the sands of time)that it is nearly impossible to come up with a "greatest list"............

It was indeed, one of four singles released from Synchronicity. Probably my favorite Police song. Andy Summers guitar work is brilliant in this song. It perfectly echoes the "grandmother screaming at the wall" and the mother chanting "her litany of boredom and frustration". "Synchronicity I" is great, too! Hell, the whole album is great! Only Sting could write songs inspired by Carl Jung.

I've never heard about the Jung inspiration. I'll have to do some reading. Synchronicity is one of the few albums to make my very short list of perfect albums (from the first track to the last there's no need to skip a track). Okay, maybe "Mother" is a bit of a misfit, but it still is part of the whole package. I'm still not sure how I feel about "Murder by Numbers" as I grew up with the LP and that track wasn't included. I think the album ends on a much more pleasurable note with "Tea in the Sahara."
