While looking for info about "Let Me Hear the Music" I stumbled across James Huguely's obituary:

The man had a winding career path before ending up on Magnum.

He want from a career in theater, to forming an ad agency, to selling a million albums as a country novelty act, to a Hollywood screenwriter and producer.

Here is his country album:

It makes "Convoy" sound like Beethoven.

Say what you will about today's music, but there is no Lady Gaga or Justin Beiber song bad enough that i wouldn't listen to it before I would listen to 70s CB radio themed country songs. Thankfully, no one outside of Hell will ever be forced to make a choice like that.

I just find it fascinating that someone can move from an ad exec, to a novelty country act, to a writer/producer for a hit tv show in just a few years.

RIP

I find this music totally nostalgic. Brings me right back to that fad in the late 70s. Smokey and the Bandit, BJ and the Bear, Dukes of Hazzard, Six Pack, etc. Of course, I was just a kid...but that vibe was awesome.

Same here. Even Clint Eastwood got into the act with his "Every Which Way ..." movies.
