TS, the Shadow Riders and the Fourth Wall

The other day I watched my DVD copy of The Shadow Riders, the western TS made with Sam Elliott from the Louis L'Amour novel. I believe it was made in the early 1980's, right in the midst of the MPI run. Along with TS and Elliott, it had Katherine Ross (isn't she married to Sam Elliott?) and the greatest cowboy actor of all time: Ben Johnson.

At the end of the movie when our heroes were riding off into the sunset, I was surprised to see TS, turn and look right at the camera as he was riding off on his horse. Just like Thomas Magnum!!

I love that Movie and everytime I watch it, I wish Tom Selleck and Sam Elliott would do more movies together. I think I read somewhere that they share the same agent........
