Another TS "hearing" (as opposed to "sighting"). Hubby and I were watching an NHL game last night and when it went to commercial, I turned back to my magazine, when hubby says, "isn't that Tom Selleck?" Sure enough, he was doing a voice-over for a fatherhood.org commercial. Not sure which game we were watching -- maybe Chicago or Detroit -- it's not a commercial that normally runs in the Northeast, but with the NHL Center Ice package, we get games from all across the country!

Here's another one for you Andy. From "Two Birds of a Feather"...Lt. Dupree wrote:Thanks for the picture. Do you have anymore?

"Gandalf, this is Frodo. Do you read me? Over."

Higgins: It's not a scratch! It's a bloody gouge!

Hey James, thanks again. I was hoping to get one or two from that episode. I have some set pictures from the days of shooting. On the final day of shooting, we had the 'napalm' drop. We soldiers then escaped to a Huey. During my run to the chopper, I ran by Tom as he was emptying his jacket. I still have a burn scar on my left arm from one of the M16 shells.
The area of filming was on the North Shore near Haleiwa just east of the bridge. The site is an old Naval flight training area. I have seen the site on Rick Romer's blog. The site was used for numerous scenes.
Thanks again James.

It's nice to have some Hockey fans amongst the group, especially ol' school hockey. I was a huge Bobby Orr fan even though I lived and played hockey in Minnesota at the time and was a North Stars fan, you couldn't help but admire the great talent that Orr was. I still think of the end to end rushes he would do as he changed speed, cut and deked like no other player..and as a defensman! Too bad his knees gave out on him as I would have loved to see him the league when Gretzky came in.........
Here's some pictures taken of Tom yesterday at the Vietnam War Memorial. I love that first picture of Tom touching The Wall. It's such an awesome and emotional picture. Good man Tom.

Tom's been asked to be spokesman for The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund. Here's a short article...
Good God, Magnum
The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund is a bringing television’s more famous P.I. to D.C. next week to serve as its spokesman for a new education center. Tom Selleck will be in town Monday and Tuesday to meet the center’s organizers and film public service announcements to raise money for the memorial's proposed underground visitors center.
Spokeswoman Lisa Gough explained Selleck's selection by noting that "Magnum, P.I." showed him and his friends “[using] the skills they acquired in the service to assist them as civilians," making the show the “the first positive portrayal of Vietnam veterans” of its time. You’ll have to wait to see Selleck and his famous ‘stache in the commercials later this year, but Washingtonians will be able to see a replica of the center this March at an official unveiling before it begins a nationwide tour.

I was 19 when I first visited the Wall. two highlights of the visit were finding the name of the MIA from my bracelet (Capt. Lewis P. Smith II 5-30-68), and standing in the same place as TM and having my picture taken. I still wear the bracelet, but the photo has long since been lost. TS is the perfect choice for this. MPI is the reason I started my involvement with the National Alliance of POW/MIA families at the age of 14. Back then it was the National league of families. MPI is the reason I started wearing a bracelet, and one of the reasons I wear it to this day.
"But Higgins, I can explain."
