Re: Straight and Narrow (7.4)
Candy Clark/Leslie Emory sure could be annoying but for some reason I liked her. She could have been written in more often as far as I was concerned. She and Cleo/Phyllis were more of the supporting cast that made MPI what it was. Enjoyable and memorable!!!

I really didn't like this episode. All the bickering and shouting, there was too much of it, and Magnum is a jerk in many scenes for no reason.
Re: Straight and Narrow (7.4)
I started watching every episode again, in order and have noticed some "things" I never saw before.
So Magnum sprains his right foot, but can't use the clutch? (Only the clutch in cars is used with the left foot).

Re: Straight and Narrow (7.4)
The difficulty would be releasing the clutch and pushing the throttle at the same time. either foot would present a problem. I hate driving my MR2 after leg day at the gym because I'm afraid I'll pop the clutch on a hill lol.
That reminds me of the time....
Re: Straight and Narrow (7.4)
Had a re-look (pursuant to The Hotel Dick) at Straight and Narrow tonight. I enjoyed the episode for the several reasons mentioned above.
I think two episodes with Candy Clark were just about right-- a third might have a bit over the top in my opinion.
I like to imagine somewhere down the road that Higgins finds the broken antique walking stick. I have a few visions of how his face might have
looked: Eyebrows slowly furl and mouth starting to distort; eyebrows slowly raise with the look of frustrating resignation. I also see Higgins using
the stick at some point when it all too easily breaks. In all instances he immediately of course suspects Thomas.
I love the moments of distraction on Magnum's face as he is noticing the landscape at the back of the Island Breeze van, just outside their store.
Then his expression when he notices Leslie noticing him noticing the girl! And Leslie's expression as well!

This time, Fig Newtons with a "Beer".

Re: Straight and Narrow (7.4)
The return of the repaired walking stick is one of my favorites in the entire series. I always feel like he will NEVER get it in the stand without Higgins seeing him.
“Seems to be working already...”

I didn't realize you were so addicted to pool.

Actually, we see him on the ground twice after he's knocked out:

What made me laugh was that Thomas does the "eyebrow flip" at her, which, if I'm not mistaken, is the first time he's done that since China Doll (unless of course you count the opening of every episode...but you know what I mean.)J.J. Re: Straight and Narrow (7.4)
Does anyone know what the patch is on the ball cap that TC is wearing at the track, when Magnum sprains his ankle?
It looks to be the triangle emblem used by many New Jersey police agencies, but I couldn't make out which. If that's what it is, I wonder what the significance is. Was it an in-universe thing, or a Roger E. Mosely thing?
Thanks!

I’m watching this episode now. It’s hard to tell because Getv isn’t HD but I can make out “Police” and “NJ”

Re: Straight and Narrow (7.4)
Funny detail: when Leslie is cleaning up at Magnum’s, she’s just picking things up and throwing them into the closet. She even gives the pile a kick so she can shut the door.

Re: Straight and Narrow (7.4)
Candy Clark overacted so much in this. It was hard to get through her too bad all her scenes were with Magnum, so I couldn't fast forward. I also can't believe they brought her back.
Very corny.
Season 7 started out real strong then this episode with this over actor??

Re: Straight and Narrow (7.4)
The phrase straight and narrow typically signifies a disciplined and morally upright path in life. For a person's thinking, it suggests adhering to clear, ethical principles, making responsible choices, and staying focused on long-term goals without being swayed by temptations or distractions.
