Well, I better introduce myself... I go by Cliff, I used to hang around the old usenet "alt.tv.magnum-pi" many years ago. I remember David Romas was a regular there, along with a lot of long lost friends.

Just last month, my wife and I finally went to Hawaii for the first time. Wow! Now when I watch the episodes again, I can recognize so many places... it makes the show really come alive. If you haven't been, I would "so much" recommend it.

I just watched "Did you see the Sunrise" again. Wow, the chopper footage is amazing, and you can tell that it really is Oahu.

Welcome aboard Cliff. I know there are a few of us Professer David Romas under-graduate students on here. Did you make the pilgrimage to The Anderson Estate while in Oahu?

Thanks! Yep, I did stop by the estate. And I happen to be a pretty good photographer. But, I must have been a little out-of-sorts and not concentrating on the photography. The pictures aren't much to speak of. The location is somewhat like I envisioned, but of course quite a bit smaller than what we all imagine on TV. Also, I was a bit taken aback by how the section of road there is sort of "ordinary"... (How ordinary can that spot on this planet be?) That is, homes just across the road and a hundred yards down weren't mansions, just regular homes, one had a beat up old Mustang for sale in front of it. They all had local political signs up.

The estate itself is certainly run down and overgrown just like many have reported. The old chain link fence has seen better days, quite a bit of corrosion there, and my guess is that it shouldn't last another decade before it falls into the sea.

Looking back I realize that I just scratched the surface... I should have gone to see more sites, but we really didn't have a wasted moment.

I really hope they do something to spruce up the estate. It's a shame to let it deteriorate to that level.

Hey Clif, I played on that site as well, there are several other lurking here that did as well...
