Check this out, Bill Bennett was discussing the merits of
Magnum P.I. and
Hawaii Five-O on his
Morning in America* nationally syndicated radio program this morning (9/17). He apparently devoted a large chuck of the show to it, although I only caught the end. People were calling in with comments. It was great. Bennett admires both shows, but he was definitely strongly favoring
HFO. They were conducting a poll as to which show was better, but I didn't catch the results.
One of the caller comments that I caught really cracked me up, however. Some guy said that Selleck was offered the role of McGarrett, but he had to turn it down because of his contract.

And no one corrected him on it. Hehe.
Hawaiian Eye was also briefly discussed.
* I don't normally listen to Bill Bennett's show, but in scanning the AM dials I just happened to land on it as the words "Hawaii Five-O" came across the air wave!
