How about some brand new Magnum P.I. episodes?

For all non-episode specific topics about the show, including MPI-related "tie-ins"

How about some brand new Magnum P.I. episodes?

Or maybe a new movie, featuring the original cast, and their original ages (e.g., a 35 year old Tom Selleck), set in the '80s, with everything exactly as it was in the '80s?

I have been thinking for a long time that such a thing would be possible eventually, but I didn't know if I'd live long enough to see it or not.

But [Raja Koduri] said that the line between what was real and what was rendered would not be blurred completely until 2020.
I'd be surprised if such a thing would be possible within 12 years, but at least it may happen within my lifetime.

Imagine all of the things that could be done when CGI, including CGI "people", is indistinguishable from the real thing on film. I wouldn't mind seeing a brand new John Wayne movie, for example. And movie versions of old TV shows wouldn't be bad with the option to use perfect copies of the original cast.

Cool idea.

I have wondered about a summer replacement mini-series using the real characters to tie up some loose ends from the original series. Throw in some action and a bunch of good times re-living the glorious 80s.
