Which Ferrari was your favorite?

The '79, the '81' or the '84? For me, I think it was the '84. I just think it was the best looking. I prefer the red windshield frame, the black vents and the rear spoiler.

'84 for me too. All of the Ferrari's used on the show were awesome. They were ahead of their time. Still an incredible car by today's standards.

I'm going with the '84 as well. Those 308 and 328's are still in my opinion the best looking body style Ferrari ever had.........

They were nice as well but, something about that mirror sticking out just didn't look right to me. If were talking Miami Vice car, I actually liked the Ferrari Daytona they use in the first few episodes. Of course I wouldn't turn down any model if given to me......LOL

I wouldn't turn down any of them but, if I had to pick, I'd go with the '84 as well.

I
much preferred the beefier tires with bulging sidewalls of the '79 to the "low profile" tires with the relatively flat sidewalls on the newer cars. The "low profile" thing is a trend that started in the '80s and is still kicking today, to even greater extremes even. I
hate "low profile" tires. They look wimpy and lacking in substance, while the beefier tires have a classic performance car look, evoking images of classic '60s and '70s muscle cars and sports cars; and the bulging sidewalls accentuate the curves of the beautiful and classic Pininfarina-styled Ferrari 308.
The '79:
The '84:
Also, if "low profile" tires are so wonderful, why don't real race cars, e.g. "Indy" cars and stock cars have them?
As far as the cars themselves go (not considering the tires), I don't have a strong preference, since the differences are minor. I do however, prefer the cleaner look of the '79 with its lack of the "tacked on" spoiler look. Fortunately they never went with a 308 featuring "ground effects" which would have been horribly cheesy.

My favorite Ferrari is the 308 I'll own in five years when I can finally afford it

. That is, if we're not all walking instead of driving cars because the gas prices were just too much

.
I paid $4.00 a gallon for regular unleaded yesterday.
I actually saw a 308 drive down the street in the town where I live. I decided then and there (even though I've been a lifelong MPI fan) that I would eventually own one.
It's nice to have dreams.

There's a local guy who ownes a '79 red 308. It's got black interior, but it's close to the season 1 car. He ownes a Jeep dealership, and I used to see it there when I'd pass by. I stopped seeing it for a while, and one day I asked him about it. He said he gave it to his (at the time) 19 year-old daughter. My heart just sank.

I agree with Maxim. I like the black windshield border and the larger tires. The tires that make the rim look two inches from the road look horribly DUMB to me (and my husband has them on his Dodge Stratus). But I just think of hitting a pothole or a curb with them -- and goodbye, rim! I think they look PARTICULARLY STUPID on an SUV, and you see those ALL the time here in the Atlanta area. Gag me with a spoon!!
I'm just full of opinions today, aren't I?

I agree with the SUV thing. I've never cared for low-profile tires on anything, but on SUVs it is particularly ridiculous. Talk about defeating the purpose. Fortunately you rarely see low-profile tires on SUVs or other 4WD vehicles here in Maine. Not many people want to ruin or reduce the benefits of a 4WD vehicle by adding a foolish type of tires, what with the amount of snow we get up here.
