Thanks to this site I now have a replica of TM's pow/mia bracelet on order. I found the scene where you can freeze frame it and I custom ordered one from the website mentioned in the Magnum gear section. Another item off of my wish list. I have a Rolex GMT Master II "Pepsi" and although it isn't the exact model worn by TS in the series it's close enough for me. I also received the Jungle Bird shirt as a Christmas present. The Detroit Tigers hat I found at Wal-Mart and I have VM02 patch that will go on a hat when I can locate one in the correct shade of navy blue. I'm saving up for the team ring. The Ferrari I will most likely never have. Oh well, you can't have everything. I'll post a pic of the bracelet when I receive it if anybody is interested.

This is really cool. I appreciate you sharing this. There are much worse ways people can spend their time.

Don;t give up on the Ferrari. You never know...

He is right about the Ferrari. I have seen the 308's go for as cheap as $35,000. Still a lot of money, but it is certainly more affordable than one would think. I think the maintenance is what gets you though.

As for the rest of the collection good job! You are well on your way to having most everything!

Thanks for your comments, everyone. I'll have to post a group photo of my humble collection when the bracelet arrives. I have started watching my dvd's starting with season one of course. I have accumulated all eight seasons and I'm trying to watch them all in order. I can't believe how much I remember and how much I have forgotten. I was ten when the show debuted. I never missed an episode. I just ordered the black jungle bird shirt this week. I have seen it before and while I liked it I figured I really didn't need it as T.S. never wore the black one in the series. WRONG! I've seen it several times in the first season. I can't believe I didn't remember that shirt. I was trying to order the black star orchid shirt and found out they have been discontinued and will no longer be available. I did find an online shirt store that said they will be getting one last shipment of black star orchid shirts but they weren't sure when (June or July or maybe longer)they would have them. You had to pay the full price and wait. I ordered the black J.B. shirt instead. This is a great site by the way. Just what every Magnum fan needs. Thanks again for the replies.

Thanks Mr. Walters. You sir, have a wonderful website here. I really enjoy this site. Watching Magnum is like going back in time for me. I'm ten through eighteen again. Lol. Thanks for the compliment.

Here is a pic of my bracelet. I received it the other day. It turned out really nice. Sorry for the lousy pic. I'm no photographer.

Thanks, IKnowWhatYoureThinking. Maybe I'll fall into a large inheritance some day from a long lost relative and I'll be able to afford the Ferrari. I'm not holding my breath however, lol. I really want to add the team ring and although I own a couple .45's I don't own a Colt 1911A1. All the .45's I own have been enhanced and aren't the original unmodified version of the 1911A1 that T.M. used. Thanks again for the comment.

With that in mind, I'm bought a mega-millions lottery ticket this morning. I think it's 125 million plus in New York tonight. I'd love to think I could help Eve Anderson out with that poor estate she's saddled with as well.

Of course, in the good karma section, I would open an animal shelter and provide some charitible works for children.

Interesting side note here to the MIA bracelet. I was watching some Hulu last night and I discovered two more TV shows that featured main characters wearing them. This updates my list as follows.
Thomas, Rick, and T.C. - Magnum, P.I.
Rick Simon - Simon & Simon
Harmon Rabb - JAG
Stringfellow Hawke - Airwolf
Dr. Brackett - Emergency!
Andy Travis - WKRP in Cincinatti

GMT Master,

I may be "pouring salt on the wound" here, but I have actually HANDLED that bracelet (or a duplicate -- from what I understand, MOST frequently used props had duplicates in case one got lost or broken, so what I saw and handled was probably one Tom Selleck wore at some time or other, he could have worn more than one -- they were just duplicates).

Here is the bracelet "worn" by Magnum GI (a GI Joe turned into MPI) (he's also "wearing" Rick's team ring that was lost and later found, and you may notice MGI has his OWN tiny team ring and a GMT watch on his left wrist):

Image

I also have the black parrot shirt, but my spouse wears it (here he is after a rather disappointing drive at Ko'olau golf course on Oahu):

I also found that black parrot shirt appeared in quite a few first (and I think second) season episodes. I had a list of them at one point, but I can't find that list right now. But it is DEFINITELY as legitimate as the red one -- it just isn't the one he was wearing when he did the iconic wink.

If you want to track how Magnum GI saw and handled all the genuine MPI props, check his blog at:

MGI's Blog of Viewing of MPI Treasures

Anyway, you have a GREAT collection. I have only the red and black parrot shirts, and I can't get Larry (spouse) to wear the red one (yet!!)

Check the forum thread about "eBay item" for a recent update about some things I saw and handled and some similar things that are currently listed on eBay.

golfmobile, that is an awesome story in the blog. Don't ever think that sharing that fantastic story would be "pouring salt on the wound". A true Magnum fan would love hearing about your experience and seeing those pictures. I hope to someday get to Hawaii and find some locations that I've seen in the shows. My ultimate wish would be to meet Tom Selleck. I wish he had a fan club that put on a fan appreciation celebration were you could go and meet him and get an autograph. I am a big Darrell Waltrip fan. He is a retired Nascar legend. I mention that in case you don't follow Nascar racing. Anyway, he had a fan club celebration every year and I attended several of them. They were always a great time. I wish T.M. would do the same thing. Thanks for sharing the story and pics with me.
