What I did today when I was bored.

What I did today when I was bored.

My wife has been in Florida for the past four days attending her sister's wedding, (and partying). I was looking for something to do today, so I made this.

If you've ever seen these cryptic little oval shaped stickers on the back of cars, that was my inspiration.

I bought some vinyl letters at the hardware store, sanded the origional letters off the vinyl sticker, and put the MPI ones on. Wha-la!

I figure why not have a cryptic little oval shaped sticker for the greatest website about the greatest television show ever?

Cool!! I like how some countries will have a little flag below it or on the side. You could put a mini Hawaiian flag on the side or the Cross of Lorraine.

Perhaps we should make this a 'Fan Art' type of thread. I've been off work this week and been working on MPI themed desktop wallpapers. The first one I've done is a fantasy KKC modern day wallpaper that looks like an advert using the Kahala(Hilton) hotel as the backdrop with a KKC branded text with logo. It's 98% done.

I've also been working on a retro 1970s KKC one but I'll need a few more days to get it right. Also I want to do an Island Hoppers wallpaper advertisement as well.

I thought of putting the cross next to the MPI, but I need a clean black picture of it to trace and cut out of vinyl. I'd have to lay it out and cut it out to stick it on. I haven't seen a clear enough version that's big enough.

Personally I'd like to see a large cross, gold (or dark blue) in color, in the middle of the oval with MPI superimosed over it. That would look really cool.

If anyone can post a clean shot of the cross, I'd appreciate it.

Hey James, it might make for a cool graphic for something on the site.

This must have been The Weekend of the Creative But Bored MPI Fans. I got the brilliant idea to embroider the IH helicopter on a golf shirt, so I high-tailed it over to Hobby Lobby for some embroidery floss. However, before I attempted that endeavor, I figured I needed a pattern so I skated over to www.cafepress.com to check on the heli on their t-shirts. I don't want a t-shirt or sweat-shirt (and theirs are silkscreen-printed, NOT embroidered or I'd buy one of theirs), and I like the embroidered logos on golf shirts (duh!). So to test my modified pattern (it's not EXACTLY cafepress' because their heli doesn't have a window), I created a .jpeg and printed it on some transfer paper and ironed a little shield on a collared golf shirt:

Now I have to get brave enough to decide to try to embroider it . . .

However, compare to one I had made:

But I fear a copyright violation if I send it off to have someone make it for me. Ya think? So I have to figure out how to do it on my own.
