As a high school student I loved Magnum PI. But why was the show on always the night before my lab write up was due!!!!!!
Now I live in Hawaii and have been in Honolulu the last 17 years. But it took me 5 years to find 'Robin's Nest for the first time!
Six year ago, I took a ride up through a neighborhood and was stunned to find a HECO(Hawaii Electric Company) Gate wide open giving access to a small steep road. Playing the dummy I dove through the gate in my modified 1991 Wrangler and managed to get up to the mountain top on their small service road.
I was stunned at the sight! Below me was an incredible view of the entire ocean and shoreline leading all the way in to Pahonu! You can see the deep blue ocean turning light blue as it enters the shallows creating an amazing natural reef.

The Honu pond wall just makes the shore tide feel like a swimming pool. The house was still there 6 years ago so you can see the layout of all the buildings.
The views left and right are equally stunning!

Looking towards Makapu'u.

Facing Kailua, you can get a full appreciation of the full length of Waimalo's lovely beach! A few scenes had Magnum jogging from this direction with the long beach behind him!
Forget Kahala! Waimanalo is the most incredible part of Oahu!
