My proudest moment as a father

I've had this memory in the back of my mind for a while now, but I thought I'd wait until today's Hallmark holiday to share it. (Is Father's Day just a U.S. thing? I'm presuming so.)

My youngest son was beginning third grade, which would have been the fall of 2006. The kids all had to fill out a little "About Me" questionnaire. Presumably they would then post and/or share the info as a "get to know each other" activity. (There were lots of kids new each year, as the district was heavy with University of Wisconsin grad student and faculty/staff kids.)

One of the fill-in-the-blanks was "Favorite T.V. Show."

My son, bless his heart, filled in "Magnum P.I."

I knew then he was on the right path.

I’ve had something similar on Father’s Day (nope, not just an American thing). Mine was about what your dad will want to do on Father’s Day...
