question about a character in an episode

i don't remember the episode, but there was a character in one of the episode who looked a lot like me, and it just stuck in my mind for 30 years...yeah...
ok, the character was a young white male...age between 18 and 25 maybe....he had straight light brown or blond hair...the character was sort of goofy in a way...like maybe he was a misfit or something...he had sort of a funny haircut...similar to john denver in a way...like denver was in the movie Oh God...

magnum was sort of counseling him on some issue...
I don't remember this character interacting with anyone but magnum...and I recall he and magnum being outside somewhere, maybe in a park, or some sort of sports area, like a baseball diamond or something...

he was a minor character in an episode...the guy might have worn eyeglasses...

does anyone remember this episode/character?
