Selleck statement on John Hillerman’s passing

Did anybody else find Tom Selleck’s brief statement on John Hillerman’s passing a little underwhelming?

Maybe he has said more in other interviews that I haven’t read, but I had hoped for him to give a deeper tribute to the man himself or commented on the Magnum-Higgins dynamic as a central force in the show’s success. By all accounts they respected and enjoyed one another during the series run, so it just feels a little of a letdown.
