It's like an alternate universe Magnum episode!!
I just got Netflix last week and have been bouncing through all these old shows. I like Rockford Files but don't really remember the Lance White episodes so . . . It was about time to check them out.
The episode opens with music that sounds just like a Magnum intro. Larry Manetti is in it. James Whitmore Jr. as well and Selleck as Lance White is a hoot! (Yes, I said a "hoot") Playing perfect Mr. Goody Two Shoes is just too much.

I've been watching Rockford files for the first time on Netflix. I'm midway through the fifth season. As much as I want to jump forward to catch "Nice Guys Finish Dead," I'm exercising all the willpower I can to stay in order. Can't wait to reach that episode!

Too bad Garner never appeared on MPI. It seems like almost all of the RF cast made an appearance except the man himself.
How awesome would it have been if James Garner had played Luther Gillis?

Coincidentally, I just watched this episode yesterday as I'm making my way through the entirety of TRF. "Nice Guys Finish Dead" is a rarirty in sequels in that it's every bit as good as the first Lance White episode, "White on White and Nearly Perfect."
What a shame that Tom didn't reprise his role in one of those 1990s Rockford TV movies.

Thanks for the video link!
Seems the recording was a bit tweaked? Everyones voice seems a slightly higher pitch? TM sounds a bit whiny with the higher pitch, almost like he's putting it on. I assume it's just his normal voice with bad sound recording?
