Hi all,
I won a Business Trip to Tokio and this is may be my chance to visit Pahonu. I will not coming closer to O’ahu in the near and far future. My boss already agreed that I can extent my stay for vacation
So three question to the frequent visitors or locals:
- Which seems to be the cheapest airline from Tokio to Honolulu?
- Where to stay for low to middle Price?
- Worth to get a rental car or use public transport?
Anything else to take special care?
Thanks a lot!
Best regards,
Stephan

Tokyo?
i'd just google the first two questions you have but as for the third, pahonu isnt in a touristy area so i'd rent a car so you can go where you want anytime. there is a lot to see right within about 25 min from robin's nest. island hopper location is like five min and two of the King Kamehameha club locations are just about 20min further. the Wailalae beach park and connecting to that by a minute walk is the Kahala hotel
my car last week was about $28 a day. there was cheaper but wouldnt honor my personal insurance and wanted $1000 down so i wouldnt use. id go with a rental agency that is a little more well known for like 3 bucks extra a day

@maskenlos - are you from Germany?
For low price airfare, you may try to search via Kayak.com or expedia.com.
The cheapest hotel in Honolulu seems to be the Maile Sky court. We've been there - cheap and simple.
A bit more expensive but much nicer: Aqua Palms Waikiki.
To visit Robin's nest, I recommend to get a rental car.
Keep in mind that finding a parking space in Waikiki without charge is almost impossible and you should not leave any valuables in the car in Waikiki and Waimanolo.
Hope that this helps a bit.

There used to be a board regular based in Japan...can't remember who...anyone?
Have you guys used Google Flights yet? It's amazing! Just booked a transatlantic flight in mid-summer for an incredible price.
