I Found The MagnumCast Podcast Devoted to Magnum PI

#1 Post by BWheelz54 »

I didn't see any mention of this here on the forum, so I thought I would point out that there are a couple guys who are creating a Podcast devoted to our beloved Magnum, PI. I listened to their first episode, and I really enjoyed it. So fun to hear people enjoying this dang show along with me. I will say that I think their show might've been helped with a little research at this incredible forum, but this was still a ton of fun. Here is a link to their efforts.

I started with .All Roads Lead to Floyd..They read the episode brief and mentioned it was from here.

Very cool! I like it. Each one is roughly an hour long. That's a lot of Magnum chit-chat. :)

I listened to a few of the episodes, it's much more laid-back and imprecise than I expected. If you spend much time @ Magnum Mania you become spoiled with all the details, anything less is a distant second in terms of quality (& quantity) of information :D

The guys appear to enjoy themselves and definately like MPI, it comes across in their excitement. I have a hard time discerning what the older (and I assume Brit) gent is saying sometimes, it sounds as if he's speaking under his breath, playing it back doesn't always help. I suppose this is a recorded Skype call, the American's mic is a bit thin, the Brit's has that skype(y) sound, overall a descent but far from high-fidelity audio quality.

They've already alluded to the time it will take to get thru the series @ 1 or 2 episodes a month, we'll have to see if they adjust the game plan or peter-out :?:

It's worth it (to me) just to hear the intro and outro music. The intro is the expected MPI riff, the outro, classic 70s  and I love it :!: I wish it was of a higher quality though.

Overall, is it even possible to get too much MPI :magnum:

Love the effort on putting this podcast together. Unfortunately the quality really takes away from the content. Podcasts are intimate - they're right in your ear buds - so you need a nice deep track to make that connection. They could be a bit more scripted too...feels like they're really winging it.

Still, I admire their interest and efforts. Still going on with an episode recently posted.
