I was sent this by someone I work with. It's on a lot around the corner from their shop.

Hi Conch,

You might be living full time at Flemingo Key, but the car would be a great addition to your set up back there. Start charging admission to cover your lawyer's fees.
Joking aside, I believe that year was not used in MPI (78, 80, 84). Get your friend to snap a pic of the VIN #.
At the very least, you should get a few grand knocked off for catching the guy stretching the truth!

Is that the correct top for the cars used on the show?

Perhaps if I was planning on making that Florida move a bit sooner I'd have a cruising car, but for now? I hand it off to Mr. Eastwood .....

Unfortunately, this car is not the one of the three used in show (hard top and wrong year)...which means you could probably get it for cheaper 8)

The front bumper looks totally different to all screen seen Ferraris

Hi KB,

I agree with the issue with the year which is a dead give away, but the roof is actually a removable targa hardtop just like on the show. You can make out the line above the door where the top could be removed. The difference with these two targa tops is the one on MPI was black and made of a different material and not red. If it was a true hardtop it would be a 308 GTB and worth a bit more. Either way the seller is trying to pull a fast one.

Well, although it's not authentic one from the show, if I lived in the US I'd consider buying it. I don't know if you can get these in EU anymore...

That is what I was thinking about the top, although a targa the ones on the show seemed to be plastic or fiberglass. A few years ago I did see a 308 owned by a gentleman from Minneapolis displayed at a local car show and did have a certificate from Ferrari of North America stating that it was used on the show.

Would Ferrari actually have any idea if one of their cars were used in the show? I doubt it.
