Where was Big Al's located and is anyone making this cap anymore for sales?

Thanks for the update. No relation to rocknrobbie. I have always love the show and am from Hawaii so can relate to all the episodes. I live in California now but hoping to move back home in a couple of years.308GUY wrote:Welcome rockinrick1. Any relation to rocknrobbie?![]()
I have no idea where Big Al's is/was, but I'd guess it was a local, (to Ouahu), shop, or completely fabricated for the series. Seems as though I do remember somebody saying in an old thread that it may have been a local shop on the island, but I can't point you to it.
Member "only looking" offered them some time ago, but after my own inquiry to him, is not at present, (to my knowledge anyway), making them.
Thanks. It looks like 'only looking' is out of business. I'm sure someone will do a replica of the cap in the near future. Thanks for your help.Sam wrote:Hi rockinrick1,

The "Al's Automotive and Muffler King" cap was actually a holdover from the 1979 Tom Selleck/James Whitemore Jr. pilot movie The Chinese Typewriter.
