Magnum Mania!

Just read in the morning paper, Encore is changing some channels, and it's adding "Encore Classic" Dec 2nd! And Magnum, PI will be on this channel! On Encore, they show them uncut, and commercial free! Who knows what other gems they will show!

I've looked ahead on my DirecTV guide. Next Monday,at 3:00 and 5:00pm PST!"Don't Eat the Snow in Hawaii"! I don't believe it's going to be HD, but I can hope!

I have DirecTV but am not sure I get Encore, thanks for the heads up!

There are several Encore channels. It is not going to be on Encore East or West, but on one of their other channels, they are renaming!

Looks like it will be airing at 5:00pm and 7:00pm CST and from what I can see so far they will be airing in order..............

I believe they are going to air The episode first at 5:00 pm PST, and then show it again the next day at 3:00 pm PST(6:00 pm Eastern) and then show the new episode at 5:00 pm! Adjust for your time zones!

Wrong opening of course! I wish people would just get it right!

It is nice not having any commercial breaks. I got home from work late last night and missed almost half of the episode, could anyone tell if it was indeed unedited?

The opening was wrong! The new theme music, not original! And I don't remember seeing the part where Dan's sister gets off the plane with that little guy. He then comments how big Magnum is! If someone else saw that part, I stand corrected!

The DVD I have has that part when Dan's sister gets off the plane with the little corporate guy.

Who is editing the later opening sequences onto the earlier episodes though?

There are lots of things missing because this is the version edited for syndication into two episodes. The original aired as a two hour movie and had fewer commercials than syndication, therefore more scenes. Besides the intro being entirely changed with the credits shown before Magnum steals the Ferrari, there is the scene with Cooley and Healy walking down the corridor to the autopsy with their heels clicking, the scene at Ricks's involving Sam the piano player, the missing "little cororate guy" as mentioned, and a few other very minor cuts that I have noticed over the years, but can't remember and the moment. I bet they had to cut 4-5 minutes, maybe more, for syndication.

Looks like they are going to have a Magnum marathon on New Years Day..................
