I have the Magnum, P.I. issue of this sadly-defunct publication (Issue #9, April 1997) which features an in-depth history of the show as well as an episode guide. Magnum-Mania has rendered this type of publication obsolete but what a wealth of information this was to me sixteen years ago! This was a fine magazine and it's a shame it didn't last. I have yet to scan the entire MPI article but in the meantime, here's the full-color cover.

LG: Hope you scan and share the article with all of us. The cover looks to me like it is from "China Doll" (season 1; ep. 2, or 3 if you count part 2 of the pilot). Any thoughts?

James has uploaded the Television Chronicles Magnum article for your reading enjoyment. The article also had a complete episode guide but it offers nothing that Magnum-Mania doesn't already have beat coming and going.

Awesome read! Very objective, and hit on the major moments and what made the show great.
