Tigers Jersey

#1 Post by Col. Ivan »

Trying to find more info on the Detroit Tigers home white jersey that Magnum sports in the series. Anyone know if has a Tigers players name on it, or perhaps it says "Magnum", or is it blank? Any help would be great.

Also, anyone know which episodes the jersey is used in??

Hello Col. Ivan, welcome to MM!

TM had one on in The Legacy of Garwood Huddle (5.4):

I believe there were a couple more, but I can't recall them right now.
Higgins: It's not a scratch! It's a bloody gouge!

Col. Ivan,

In the episode "Paper War" Magnum had a Detroit Tigers home jersey that Higgins had given away to charity among other things. I think the jersey had the #14 on the back, but no name on the back. Although, in this episode, Magnum mentions an Al Kaline bat (one of the things Higgins gave away), I do not think the jersey is Al Kaline's. The Major League Baseball Hall of Fame indicates that Kaline's primary number was "6."

As James mentioned, Magnum also wears a Detroit Tigers uniform in the episode "Legacy of Garwood Huddle" (season 5). The home Tigers jersey does not have a name on the back and does have the #14 on the back. Hope this helps.

Magnum was buried in his Tiger uni in Solo Flight.

In Jororo Farwell, TM's glove is an Al Kaline model.

In Infinity and Jelly Doughnuts, Rick gives TM an Al Kaline rookie care.

By the way... Kaline actually wore #25 in his rookie season and #6 for the rest of his tenure with the Tigers.

Jim Bunning wore number 14 from 1956-1963, which would fit with young TM's (and TS's) time as a fan.

Can't take credit for knowing that though, looked it up here:
