Monday Magnum Story

Yeah, I know it's Tuesday, but "Monday Magnum Story" was more alliterative.

I used to have this little red convertible sports car, (it was a 1964 Triumph Spitfire) and one time as I was cruising along listening to the theme from Magnum, it occurred to me that it might be cool to sort of reenact the show’s opening. At the next red light, I rewound my cassette, and when it turned green, I hit “play”, smiled like Magnum at the camera (imaginary, in my case), and peeled out. I had trouble getting the timing right, though, so it took me like 6 lights before I was satisfied. Then I noticed that the same car full of girls had been beside me the whole time, and that they were laughing. Hard. So hard, in fact, that they couldn’t breathe.

I didn't feel like Magnum anymore.

Nice!

I love the Spitfire. Even though it was known as a bit of a dog, I've always thought they were cool.

Yeah, I miss my Spitfire. 1100 cc's of pure power.....

Perfect sportscar for a 17 year-old, though. Any bigger or more powerful, and I probably would've killed myself.

Back in the day (mid-1970's) my cousin drove an MGB. It was always in the shop.

I think you had to be a decent mechanic to own one of this British "sports" cars. Luckily, there isn't much to them!
