Does any one Know what happened to the pups after the show ended, I know they are no longer with us ( I think but pretty sure) Where did they go? Did any one from the cast keep them? I always thought it would of been really cool if John Hillerman took them home to live out the rest of their days.

They will be in dog heaven for sure at this stage.
There were more than 2 dogs for Z & A, some from Hawaii and a few from the mainland. Scott Hart ( I think that was is name) was the dog handler on set, who would've probably owned a few of them. They are trained working dogs, so after MPI they were probably used on others shows. It would've been a nice way to end the show with John getting the dogs, but it wasn't meant to be. It would be neat to actually get a pup that has a bloodline directly to Z & A!!

yes it would be cool to get some pups from that Blood line I wonder if the trainer is still around or has a shop that would train dogs like that and I wounder on how much it cost to do something like that,

In Larry's book Donna's Dobies did the first few season. Then Scot Hart trained 2 dog pound Dobies for the rest of the episodes.

Well, usually the dogs are owned by the dog handler, not the actors on a show. The actors actually spend very little time with the dogs, just the few scenes where they appear. The rest of the time the dogs aren't even on the set.
So after the show ended, they would have gone to live with the handler.
As Dobies get about 10 to 13 years old. So they'll be long gone by now.

Brian,thanks for posting the link.
Styles,I'm not an expert but what I see is about a 10% loss of sheen in the coats and a 30% loss of tooth enamel. So I'm guessing April/May of 1987.Overall they both are "Fat as a Fiddle"
