Hi Guys,

Can anyone confirm the type of boat that was used in the show and where it might be now, I think it’s a 1982 70’ Bertram but I am not sure when it appeared in the show for the first time.

Regards

Kimbo.
Here is a pic of a similar boat...

Nice boat, and well kept. That first picture is at Avalon Harbor on Catalina Island off the coast here in Southern California. The building to the right is the historic Casino built in the 1920's. It's a great place. I've sailed there many times myself.

I'm curious, all of you boat experts, the differences between the King Kamehameha I, II, and III? One was in Dead Man's Channel in season two. Two was in Past Tense in season three. Three is in This Island Isn't Big Enough in seasonsix.

The yacht was a 1978 Bertram Motoryacht with a extended fishing cockpit which was installed in Miami Beach. I kinda stumbled on your website, I was a captain on the boat along with the owner Al. The boats real name at the time was Alaini Lipini and we kept it in the Ala Wai just behind the Kaiser Hospital. Enjoyed many days with the crew and cast of Magnum.

Welcome Captdave!

It's always great when someone associated with the show joins the board. To what extent were you involved with the show? Were you the captain during sea filming?

Welcome Captdave

Looking forward perhaps to hearing some of your best memories of working with the crew and hopefully cast members.

Welcome aboard Captain!

Another vote for your posting often, spinning yarns of your time with the "gang" from the cast and crew.

Are you still in HI?

Welcome and HAGO! :magnum:

Nope, I am landlocked in Southern Nevada! I took only slides with my camera back then, I will have to do some digging and have a few of them posted. Kinda funny, we filmed mostly off Chinamans Hat, very rough over there, we would get Thomas and Larry seasick and Al and I would do the long shot stand ins. Easy Money!

Hi Captdave,
Great to have you on board, do you know where the boat is now?
