RERUNS!?!? Is anyone showing reruns? Ever again?

For all non-episode specific topics about the show, including MPI-related "tie-ins"

RERUNS!?!? Is anyone showing reruns? Ever again?

#1 Post by The Birdman »

I live in dank rainy old Oregon and watching Magnum PI has gotten me through the last couple winters. I think it was on at least 3 different channels. One may have been a local channel even. Anyways, this winter I kept running searchs on my Direct TV programmer and nothing ever came up :( . WHat's the deal? Does anyone know if anyone is going to do reruns again? :?:

Right now the only national cable channel that is showing Magnum in the U.S. is the Retro Television Network. If you don't get RTN (which most people don't), and it's not on a local affiliate, you're out of luck. Time to get the DVDs. ;)

My local RTN channel replaced Magnum with "I Spy." As far as I can tell, it's the only show that's been bumped...

I lost RTN ages ago. A pity, since I liked watching Quincy ME and their other shows besides Magnum.

I can't understand them replacing Magnum with anything. It must be very expensive to re-air. I can't think of any other rational explanation as to why they'd drop it from their line-up.

The footage of MPI on RTN was very grainy. It's a better deal to invest in the entire DVD collection.
I just don't give a damn!

I don't know if you're talking about a showing at night, but my RTN airs Magnum every weekday at 3:00pm, right after Kojak and before Rockford Files. If this is the same for you, you could at least record if it you cared to.

It used to air at 9PM before the Rockford Files and after Knight Rider. That's the only time they aired it and while I had it, they only showed the first 3 seasons (which I have on dvd).

I think I used to get RTN on Direct TV, but not any more. It's kinda baffling, I used to get Magnum PI reruns on 3 channels, IIRC, 2 back to back episodes in the morning on Slueth, then 1 around 3pm on another station, then for a while there was a local channel showing 1 episode at night. Now nothing? It must have been pretty popular, why did they all conspire to cancel it? :?:

I can't remember RTN on Directv. Maybe it was on just for a while and I didn't see it? I wish someone would show reruns again, but at least I have the DVD's.
