Jungle Bird shirt in Waikiki

#1 Post by steveadl »

Hi all, currently in Oahu. I know you can buy them online, but does anyone who's been here know if there is a store you can buy the Magnum Jungle Bird shirt in?

Cheers
Steve

steveadl,

I did a search and the only place I could find that may have it is Moonbow Tropics. It's in the "Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach Hotel"
2335 Kalakaua Ave.same hotel as Duke's Canoe Club.....

Their web page isn't working now so I can't say for sure that they have it but they do carry Paradise Found.

http://www.moonbowtropics.com./

Phone number
808/922-2268

Also check the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center...I've seen them there but don't know the name of the store.

Sweet thanks Sam, that's where our pool is - we'll check out the shop this afternoon.

Bailey's has to have it...

Even if they don't, it's certainly worth a visit!

I'd imagine there would be more than a few stores where you could get the shirt. Good luck in your search!

No luck at the Outrigger Waikiki, though they even had a photo of Magnum wearing the shirt.

Will keep looking and will try and check out Bailey's...

Nice. Now you need to head over to the estate and raid the wine cellar.

OH MY GOD!

Drove past it today on a tour but we'll head back out there by ourselves to see it properly next week.

Glad it worked out for you. That place is awesome. None of the poorly made crap for sale at tourist vendors downtown.

There's a MPI shirt on display at the Hard Rock Cafe in Waikiki. At least it was there 10 yrs ago when I was there.

You're right, the shirts are really good quality. Impressed with the feel of the Rayon material - feels like silk, and the bamboo buttons are a nice touch as well.

Cool to check out the photos of celebrities that have visited the shop as well. Lady told us James Gandolfini was in there recently but was disappointed as they didn't have any of the original shirts ($2k+) for him to purchase in his size, only replicas. As she said "he's a big boy!"

Went to Hard Rock last night but didn't see the MPI shirt there any more - unless I missed it? Will be going back there tomorrow quickly to buy my missus a cap, so will double check. They did however have Tom Selleck's uniform he wore in Mr Baseball.

Its near the outdoor bar on the right toward the restrooms on the wall. Its the famous red floral one.
