Few months ago I watched on TV episode of Magnum called "A.A.P.I." Episode starts at detective convention held in Hawaii and during the speech we clearly see Columbo (Peter Falk)

I was so excited by that that because I thought that they'll be working together and I couldn't wait for Columbo to get back on the screen again. But nothing. Episode even became uninteresting and I even didn't watch it to the end.

Also it's strange that Falk is not credited by that appearance and it seems that nobody even recognized him. I even did a little search on this forum and saw in that only in topic "Who would you like to guest on Magnum?" that people said Peter Falk.

I agree, it certainly looks like Falk as Columbo (sans fedora, etc.), but it must be a look-alike.

All three (Kojak, Mike Stone and Columbo) are played by doubles.

Apparently, (the real) Jim Rockford was originally intended to appear in this story, but at the time, James Garner was having a dispute with Universal and refused to set foot on set.

"Uh, there's just one more thing..." - that was my lame Columbo impression!

Yes, I noticed the similarities in the audience as well. The MPI group had a great sense of humor.

Well I guess stand-in was still representing Columbo...
