This was part of an article in my newspaper this morning. I KNEW you'd all want to be
DOing the right thing...
DO buy at least one size too large.
DO believe that louder is better.
DO compliment another guy on his rockin' shirt.
DO wear them with a solid blazer for formal occasions.
DON'T ever tuck them in unless you are Thomas Magnum.
DON'T wear them with a necktie.
DON'T wear a shirt with matching pants or shorts.
DON'T wear a matching shirt with your spouse. (That poor tourist couple in China Doll comes to my mind.)
OK. You can get dressed now!! And I hope you all have a
wonderful day!!

Ha, ha. That's awesome. Anyone know the protocol on wearing a t-shirt underneath? Cover up or just let the chest hair fly like TM?
What paper did you find that in Agatha?

Back in the 80's, the sizes were smaller. A medium back then fits like a small today. This is especially true with the "Paradise Found" brand worn by TM. Yes!! Buy a size larger, especially with vintage shirts.

I'd say no T Shirt underneath. Just let the chest hair fly. All of my Aloha Shirts are the same size as my regular whirts. THey are a little snug in the chest area, bt I think a size up would make them look like bedspreads!

And don't forget........
It is always okay to wear a Hawaiian Shirt under your badass biker vest...
It is always okay to wear a Hawaiian Shirt while attending ANY boring event including Family get togethers, Graduations, Birthday Parties and of course with or without Sport Coat at a Wedding.
( I almost got away with it at my own Wedding on a beach in St. Thomas, but settled on a White Tux with Hawaiian Print Bow Tie and Cumberbund)

You guys are TOO funny!! But it all sounds like good advice! I mean, the whole IDEA behind an Aloha shirt...and almost anything else Hawaiian...is that ANYTHING GOES, right??
PS - Our local paper is The Olympian,
Styles...out of Olympia, WA.

Just had a thought,
Styles. If you want to know what a Hawaiian shirt looks like with a T shirt underneath...check out the Billy Joe Bob episode.
I have to vote with
IKnowWhatYoureThinking...no T shirt.

This is funny!

I love it!
I remember that Hawaiian shirts were everywhere during the 80s. MPI really did a lot to inspire fashion. Also, sunglasses with cords became big then but I do not rememeber if MPI inspired that or just went along with it.
Carry on...
