Magnum Mania!

In "transitions"..Magnum is going through all his stuff and he puts this greenish football thing in the trash then pauses and takes it back out. Now I know YEARS ago I remember seeing this thing in a store, but can't remember what it was. Any of you guys. I believe it goes in the prop/novelty department.

It's a coconut painted green with stripes around it. I watched the epi this morning just to see the item.

Also, while TM is emptying the box, he pulls out what looks like a Wilson (Al Kaline?) baseball glove. It is not the Rawlings glove used in Squeeze Play and Jorroro Farewell. It looks like a little league size glove.

It looks like we have at least two baseball gloves now. I wouldn't mind one like TM has but I'm a lefty.

Thanks RC for the screen shots. I am a baseball nut since my youth in the 60s. That baseball glove predates me. I guess that is an early to mid 50s glove. Maybe even a late 40s glove.

The coconut must have had some significance since he kept it. I do not remember it from any episode. Does anyone else remember it?

The glove is probably from when he was a kid. It looks kid-sized.

Conch rather beat me to it (NO PUN INTENDED), but I was going to comment on the "short shorts" still being in place (and such a nice place, SL would say . . . .) even at the end of the series.

I still like 'em -- on the right . . . body.

My wife says the short shorts from the 80s should come back into style...

Was there a crotch shot? I didn;t notice. I was looking at the baseball glove and the green coconut...

Let's jope the 80's short shorts stay in the decade. I would not be comfortable at all wearing those!
