Hi Golf,
The explosion looks great! Far better than I pictured.
There used to be a kit that would convert a Fiero into a 308. I don't know if they are still around since the Fiero was so short lived. By the time Pontiac got the car right, they stopped making it.

BTW, I leave out at 6:00 AM Monday morning.

N's talk of the Al's Automotive Detroit Tigers hat inspired the picture below (told ya I had to make a new hat for MGI):

Image

Okay, okay, I KNOW the hat's a little big, but I couldn't make it large enough to fit over his hair without all-over oversize (got that?) -- the too-small version made him look as though he were wearing a beanie. Yes, too big, but better than the beanie!

Hi Golf!
All I can see is a little red X. Do you have a link?

N,

The picture seems to come and go, for me too. Sometimes when you right-click on the little red boxed X and choose "Show Picture," it will come up. But I've seen it show up and not show up twice today. So, just in case, let's see if this one sticks around:

Again, I apologize for the oversize hat . . . .

Um, Golf, I would honestly think that 99% of us on the forums couldn't make that hat.

No apologies needed.

We bow to you!

James,

Crocheted cotton string, starch, and red craft paint, along with copying the logo N1095A posted, then getting it sized correctly to fit on the hat, printing it, trimming it, and hot-glueing it to the front of the hat.

In the meantime, MGI has acquired (by the same method) his black baseball/gimme hat with the Old English "D" for the Detroit Tigers, Rick has acquired a new shirt, and both are lifting a brew at the KKC (which continues to be located in my Hawaiian ti potted plant) in honor of my birthday today:

Hope you had a great birthday Golf! :D

Loved the pics of the guys hanging out. The mini-beers are too cute. My gosh, that looks just like Rick! The hair, the spiffy new shirt with the white collar! Love the Tigers cap too! Fantastic work!

Man, that is awesome golf! Rick is a trip. With the gold chain and the all white garbs, he looks like he's ready to "boogie, boogie, boogie" on the disco round!

BTW, happy birthday!!

Golf,

A day late and a dollar short, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

As a resident of the glorious "D" (or a suburb thereof), I will congratulate you on your detail on the Tigers cap, both as a fan of the team and the show that Tom Selleck brought that cap into iconic status.

A buddy of mine is going to be Magnum for Halloween and he was going to get a pre-made costume with a cheap Hawaiian shirt and a hat that says "Magnum PI".

Of course, as a purist, I said "You can't do that!!!!"

First, you need the Red Parrot shirt (which I purchased last time I was in the islands). 2nd, you need a TIGERS cap. 3rd, you need to grow a mustache.

Needless to say, he looked at me like a lunatic.

So, I will say thank you all for allowing me to illustrate my Magnum knowlege without fear of looking like a crazy person!

Thanks, guys, for the compliments on Rick and the Detroit Tigers hat for MGI! I have so much fun doing this, but no one can appreciate it truly unless he/she is a total fan the way those of here are. Unless you KNOW what is being duplicated, you can't appreciate the "representation." I'm sure you know what I mean.

Yes, Rick does look a little 1970s disco, but then he looked that way in the show too, come to think of it. So I'll keep that look for him, unless he is in camos.

Doc Ibold, I appreciate your comments, coming from a true Detroit Tigers fan. Thank you. Now HOW could someone possibly go to a Halloween party as Magnum and NOT have the right clothes? Would you loan him your parrot shirt? (depends on how much of a drunk he may be at the party, I guess . . . . .). If I had known the shirt was available in Lahaina when I was there, I would have moved a volcano to find the shop, but I didn't know it then. On eBay, I have gotten the red one and the black one (which was worn in Skin Deep and a couple of other episodes I can't think of right now). Then I found mauishirts.com, where the Magnum parrot shirts are slightly less expensive than on the hawaiikine.com (or something like that) site. I also got the red parrot shirt in a woman's blouse and a long dress. No one I know recognizes them when I wear them (Philistines!!!), but I know what I'm wearing, so I'm happy with them.

layne, YES! Isn't Rick just perfect?? I was SO happy when I found the GI Joe with that hair style! It just shouted "Rick." And I was just tickled pink when I received him in the mail and saw him "in person." I just about cracked up! Larry, as usual, was looking at me with that "omigod, she's on another Magnum jag . . . ." look, but he's learned to humor me and laugh at my antics, bless his heart. It takes a very loving spouse to put up with our obsession, doesn't it?

Off to post more pictures on the Roaming Magnum GI site -- MGI went to the golf course with us again today . . . .

Happy belated Birthday Golf, and great job on Magnum G.I. and Rick. Amazing. :D
The answer is obvious, old man. Logic is irrelevant. It's simply Tropical Madness. (J.Q. Higgins)
