)Anyways, back in those days of yore, I got myself a cheap ring with some black glass instead of the onyx, and being a hobby toy soldier uniform painter, I applied the croix myself, using gold bronze and a very fine brush. Needless to say, my family slagged me off for that, the color wore off ever so often, and eventually even the cheap metal lost its fake gold coating... don't know when or how that piece of personal memorabilia got lost on the junk heap of history.
