Tobi:
Your daughter is very gifted! I'd guess she's destined for greatness..at least in the art world.

Hope she plans to pursue some type of career in the art field.

My mother was an artist (portrait dolls) and she used to see me and my friends getting into different things during our "growing up" process..when she saw much potential in anybody she'd always ask them, "What are you doing with your gift?" Few of us knew what to make of the question at the time, but since I'm now past the age where she posed this to us, I know exactly what she meant.

It's a crying shame,if not an outright "sin" to waste natural talent.

Judging just from the pieces presented here, I'd guess there's not much chance of that in your daughters case, she's obviously being as prolific as she can at present.

She has allot of natural ability, and I don't know if she's had any "formal" training or not, but she sure knows what to do with her brushes and a palette!

Tell her "Way to go..keep up the great work." from one of the MPI fans. :magnum:

Thank you for the kind words.

She is still at school but intends to pursue a degree in what I think these days is called Visual Communication, which is more of an applied arts degree than a fine arts degree.

Her interests lie more in animation and character design so the little portraits she does of MPI are really just to humour me.

Her mother and grand-mother are exhibiting artists, though in a very different style.

Thx again
T

Very very talented!

I work in a business with a lot of artistic types and your daughter ranks up there with them. Glad to see she's pursuing what she likes!

Really great stuff Tobi! Your daughter is very talented. Would you mind if I put some of these up on the MM Fan Art page?

Hi,

thx again - I will pass on the kind words.

You are welcome to put them up, I am sure she'd be pleased.

I just shot them with the iPhone, hence the quality isn't great and they haven't been near PS.

Best

Ok, I've added Tobi's daughter's art to the Fan Art page. Again, really nice work. I especially like the Higgins in white tux one.

I've also added three new pieces of Magnum-related fan art to the page. These are from a really talented U.K. artist named Andy Groom. Love it!

Very nice work Andy Groom!

A great addition to the fan art section.

I think the first one is my favorite. :magnum:

Did Andy say if he is a working artist, an art student, or just somebody with natural talent that likes to draw?

Just popped through this thread for the first time in a while. Some really great stuff here! Thanks to all the artists for sharing.
