Back from our trip to discover (or rediscover?) the locations of our cult serie!
Today, I propose you to review the locations where the camera was set for episode
3.4: "the Eighth part at the village".
Some of these locations have already been the subject of previous posts throughout the history of the forum... As usual, I've made my task a bit more complicated by throwing myself 'headfirst' into my research, believing that I've found what not already present, for the most part, in the very rich past of the forum!
1- The delivery warehouse of a very strange parcel.

On this extract we can see, on the other side of the water, two examples of USCG cutters (Hamilton class). The first one is (hull number 225) the USS Jarvis.

These vessels entered service in 1967 and displaced about 3,200 tons.
Today, the USCG deep-sea cutters are still located at the same pier that corresponds to the USCG HQ - 400 Sand Island parkway. That's our first clue.
Second hint : here we see, in backlight, the Aloha Tower of Honolulu's commercial port and three buildings.

The only pier that would correspond to the distance and the angle of view would be Pier 29 (map below).

2- Roy Chambers' presumed hideout
I found this one very quickly since you can see very well on these two pictures the Ala Wai Canal and the McCully Road Bridge.

1965 Ala Wai Canal Blvd

But I can't take any credit, because other wise experts had found it long before me! For completeness, I quote this place and I refer to the topic concerned.

One can only note how this house, rather decayed in the episode, is in 'dashing' condition nowadays.
3- The Pool Club Cebu in Chinatown

Found a long time ago on this forum: I join it here for completeness.

Apparently, the original building was demolished and replaced. It seems that there is a Chinese restaurant in its place.

Once again, one can only be astonished of the very good state of this place today... We are far from the "cut-throat" of 1982!
4- Honolulu Zoo

This is of course not the hardest place to locate in Oahu, but I didn't find any reference to it in the latest version of the RC guide, so I add it here. Of course, 40 years have passed and the zoo has been transformed a lot, especially to make it more recreational.
However, I had fun with this little montage...
