So, looks like the Guest House is still there?? Maybe it will be used in some fashion for the reboot?

Based on the floor plans from the county records, I'm guessing the entrance is probably right about here...eagle wrote:I'm glad I'm not the only one missing it.ENSHealy wrote:So where is that 2500 square foot basement that was supposedly there?
And remember there's a wine cellar too, according to what we learned from an article when it was for sale.

The bathhouse is still standing as well, you can see the skylights through the tree branches. It's odd that they'd get all that equipment out there and not demolish all the structures. If memory serves, the permit allowed for all of them to be taken down.

Hi ENSHealy! They don't look like they're "done"ENSHealy wrote:The bathhouse is still standing as well, you can see the skylights through the tree branches. The permit called for just the main house & bath house...

Hi RG,
I wonder if that was the elevator shaft that you have circled there. Pahonu supposedly had an elevator or at least there was mention of one when they originally built the place.....that would've been a big deal back in the 1930's. I never saw it mentioned in the listing though......maybe it was out of commission for years so they didn't bother mentioning it.
Have another look at your pic...... just in front of the excavator bucket and to the left, you can just make out what could be a stairwell going downstairs to the basement....it's hard to say for sure, but it does line up with where the basement would be. What do you think?

Aha! Good find, KENJI! I do see that now & that sure does look like stairs... looks like 2x4s they braced/framed the entrance with. So, that would be just to the left of here, correct?

Here's the article I posted last year that mentions the elevator... however, the article says the elevator is in the "main stair hall", which I don't believe is the correct location for what I circled in red in the other pic? Unless the elevator is in the back of the main stair hall?

Hi RG,
Your arrow is pointing the right direction for the possible stairwell.
I think you're right with the circled area not being the elevator shaft...I tried it a few ways and it didn't work out....I'm guessing the elevator (assuming it was installed) is closer to the courtyard on the right hand side of the main hall/foyer which would line up better with the basement location. It could be the first door at the top of the stairs. A total guess as we only know bits on the interior, so hard to say for sure.

Thinking about the elevator right now....hmmmm
I think the answer may be in the original Hawaii Five-O thread.. the only place I could see the only place it would fit is at the top of the stairs on the left..there is a door.. I always thought it just might be a closet I'll see if I can find that picture

Haha, I was just about to post this to explain what I meant by "back of main stair hall"... this door in SketchUp. I just pictured this "hall" deeper/longer toward the back of the house. So Sam, this would fit because once you get to the top of the stairs the door to the elevator would be on your left, correct?

That is just a closet because the stairs turn one more time so that will be a small landing and a elevator isn't going to work there. I think the elevator will be on the right hand side of the main hall/foyer (as you walk inside) closer to the courtyard and probably the first door at the very top of the stairs...assuming the elevator even went in.

Yes, that's where I'm thinking it is too.....top of stairs first door which is on your left.
It would also line up better with the basement location for the shaft.

Re: The Robin Masters Estate (Pahonu)
Yes because if it was in that location of the SketchUp I'm not sure how you get around the stairwell plus it would open up in the back of that bedroom that's on the oceanside.. the first bedroom not the bedroom that's at the exterior wall.KENJI wrote:Hi Sam,Sam wrote:Hi KenjiKENJI wrote:Hi RG,

Sam, is this what you were referring to (thanks for giving me the ep!)... Starting at the 40:15 mark http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x4zsw69
Re: The Robin Masters Estate (Pahonu)
Yes that is one a couple times they use the stairway.. and if the elevator was at the location you pointed out from the SketchUp that would open up in that first bedroom next to the stairwell at the back of the house.. where as the door at the top of the stairs(leftside) opens up to the first bedroom on the opposite side but opens up into a common areaRembrandt's Girl wrote:Sam, is this what you were referring to (thanks for giving me the ep!)...
